Study in Canada: Applications Open for Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2024-25

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship applications are open for this year. The scholarship that has been named after the first francophone Governor General of Canada, the 1st Major General of India is given out for international students, Canadian residents, and the permanent residents of Canada. The benefit of the scholarship is CAD 50,000 per year for 3 years. However, this scholarship is only available to Doctoral students enrolling in the Natural sciences and/or engineering, Social sciences and humanities, or health research in a Canadian educational institution. This is a non-renewable scholarship that requires nomination. The last date to apply is on October 30th, 2024.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship Eligibility 

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship eligibility criteria is as follows:

• You must be an international student, a permanent resident, or a Canadian citizen 
• Additionally, you want to apply for a doctoral degree program at a Canadian institution.
• The scholarship is exclusively for students conducting research in health research, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, or engineering.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship Nomination Process 

As mentioned before to apply for this scholarship a nomination is mandatory. You must receive a nomination from a Canadian education institution with a quota. A quota refers to the maximum number of nominations a university can give for this competition.

For a successful nomination, you must inform the faculty of the graduate studies (at your chosen educational institution). The nomination process will be started.  Therefore,  you can send the application to the nominating university by the internal deadline.

Next, the university sends your nomination to the Vanier Banting Secretariat. There is a deadline for the same. Lastly, the announcement of results will take place by early April 2025.
