The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2023-2024 is open to international students and Canadian Nationals. The Government of Canada offers scholarships to highly qualified and competitive students pursuing a doctoral degree at a Canadian university. Moreover, the scholarship is available for a duration of 3 years.
Health research, social sciences and humanities, and natural sciences/engineering are the eligible courses. Moreover, the scholarship benefit is 50,000 CAD/ INR 30.86 lakh per year. The deadline for the scholarship is 1st November 2023. Therefore, interested students must apply early.

Major-General Georges P. Vanier, the first francophone Governor General of Canada, lends his name to the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship aims to attract highly qualified international applicants. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Must be a doctoral student wanting to pursue health research/social sciences/natural sciences/engineering/humanities in Canada.
- Additionally, the applicant must demonstrate academic excellence, research potential, and leadership skills.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship Application Process
A Canadian institute must nominate a student within a quota to consider them for the scholarship. Furthermore, the applicant must solely intend to seek nomination from the university where they wish to study.
For the nomination process, a student needs to inform the faculty of the graduate studies at the selected university with the intent to apply for the scholarship. Next, the university will start the nomination process. The candidate has to submit the application to the nominating institution by their internal deadline.
Lastly, the nominating educational institution would forward the nominations to the Vanier Banting Secretariat. The deadline for the same is 1st November 2023. The competition results will be announced by April 2024.
