The candidates can apply for the student visa if they are students of distance learning or correspondence students who are studying outside New Zealand and hence they must visit New Zealand for more than 3 months to attend their education provider, such as to do practical study or sit for the exams. There has been a 20% increase in the number of student visa applications as compared to the peak period in 2022/2023. It is also expected that there will be an increase in the number of student visa applications from February to March 2024.
