Barry O’Farrell, the Australian High Commissioner, said that both international students, as well as Indian students, will face no issues while finding jobs in Australia after completing their studies.
The higher commissioner also reported that post-study work visa extension by the Australian government. Undoubtedly this will benefit the job researchers during their stay in Australia.
While giving a statement to the Times of India, the Higher Commissioner said that international and Indian students will help the country grow. Especially, when they have temporary or part-time jobs.
Recently, the Australian government stated that they will be removing the unlimited working hours for Indian and other international students. Even though the government has introduced new working hours, the extension of the post-study work visa was implemented.
The Australian Home Minister stated that from 1st July 2023, international students wouldn’t get more than 48 hours overnight for their part-time jobs.
The Australian government was forced to remove the working hour limit during the COVID-19 pandemic as the country was facing an excess labour shortage. But as the situation has normalized, the government has implemented the old rules again.
The Australian government has reinstated the old rules for all international students so that they can earn a significant amount of money while also focusing on their primary goal. The goal is to complete their higher education at Australian universities.
Implementation of Post-Study Work Visa Extension
Keep in mind that the Australian government would provide the benefits of the post-study visa extension to specific candidates as well as students. Those who are pursuing selective degrees in the field that has a labour shortage.
If the government approve the proposal of the candidates, the Indian students and students from different parts of the world will receive two additional years on their Temporary Graduate Visa.
For instance, if you’re pursuing a bachelor’s degree, the post-study work visa extension would be up to 4 years.
The Australian government also stated that they will prefer candidates with STEM courses as per the post-study work visa extension.
