Q. Describe your first day at school. You should say where was it, what happened, and explain how you felt on that day.

Ans. My first day at school is a memory that still lives rent-free in my mind. My school was located in the heart of the city and was surrounded by lush green trees and beautiful flowers. It was a private school named Dashmesh Public School with a cream-coloured building that stood tall and inviting.

When I first entered the school, I was greeted by a wave of unfamiliar faces. The hustle and bustle of school corridors, the sound of the school bell, and the chatter of excited schoolchildren filled me with a sense of anticipation. My first class was English and our teacher Mrs. Rajdhar, introduced herself with a warm smile. She had a kind face and a gentle voice that immediately put me at ease. I remember when I struggled to understand a new concept, she patiently explained everything to me until I grasped it. The highlight of the day was the lunch break. When I sat in the cafeteria, surrounded by my new classmates. We shared lunches, exchanged funny stories and before I knew it, I was laughing and making friends. I met Kashish, who shared a chocolate cake with me, and since then we have become best friends.

However, amid all the excitement, there was also a sense of nervousness. Everything felt new and unfamiliar, the ways to reach my class were still new to me, so I would sometimes feel lost in the school, the teachers, the subjects and even the school uniform were fresh to me. I felt like a small fish in a big pond. But as the day progressed, my nervousness gradually faded away and was replaced by a sense of curiosity and excitement. I remember feeling a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Eventually, I managed to find my way around the school without getting lost, which was a big deal for me.

Overall, I had mixed emotions throughout the day. It was a day filled with new experiences, friends, and lessons. That day made me realise that despite the initial fear, change isn’t always negative, and venturing beyond one’s comfort zone can result in beautiful new beginnings.
