GP Birla Scholarship 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Although the basic criteria of the scholarship are to perform well in terms of academics, candidates should check the following scholarship criteria:

• Candidates who want to apply for the scholarship must be a resident of West Bengal at the time of application and selection for the scholarship. 
• The scholarship fund is granted to a financially constrained student only. Therefore, candidates applying for the scholarship should not have a family income of more than INR 3 lakhs from all income sources.
• To be eligible for the scholarship reward, applicants must have cleared their 12th board with a minimum of 85% of marks from the State Board of Education. 
• Candidates, who have studied under the Central Board of Education, must have a merit score of 90% and above in the class 12th mark sheet. 
• If any candidate has ranked under the top 15000 in AIEEE/AIPMT/JEE qualifying examinations, then he or she can consider themselves eligible for the scholarship reward.

Documents Required

• Proof of enrollment in any specified stream at a college or university.
• A copy of the previous academic year’s passing certificate and mark sheet.

• Any income proof certificate like a copy of Form 16, Income Tax Return, or Salary Certificate.

Selection Process

The GP Birla Education Foundation will conduct the selection process of eligible students in the following manner. 

• To begin with, the foundation will review the scholarship application in order to confirm the eligibility of the applicants.
• Those who will meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship would be invited for a personal interview with the panel of experts from the foundation.
• Based on the academic and interview performance of the shortlisted candidates, the trust will select candidates for the scholarship reward.

Candidates need to note that the final decision of the selection process will be made by the panel of experts only and cannot be changed thereafter.
