The United Nations General Assembly assigned 1 October as the International Day for Older Persons on 14 December 1990. UNGA passed a resolution 45/106 according to which a specific day will be dedicated for the older persons.

On this day, the government, and other private organizations, as well as citizens of the world are meant to spread awareness about the human rights of older persons.

Theme of International Day for Older Persons 2023

75 years ago, the UNGA had adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is in the form of a monumental document that was accepted in the history of human rights.
