Gaganyaan Mission 2023: The Mission Will End To Which Planet?

ISRO is all set to conduct its third mission after concluding two successful missions, Chandrayan-3 and Aditya L-1. This time it will be known by the name, Gaganyaan Mission. Gaganyaan, which translates from Sanskrit to “celestial vehicle,” is the name of India’s endeavour to send at least four astronauts into low-Earth orbit. ISRO has finally made it official that it is all set to conduct another test which will take place on 21st October, 2023. To work on this, a high-level conference was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the future of India’s space programs and to evaluate the Gaganyaan Mission’s development.

The meeting evaluated the mission’s readiness, and it was decided that the first human launch would probably take place in 2025.

For all those wondering, the Gaganyaan mission will start landing at a height of around 17 km, the Crew Escape System, in particular, will separate from the Test Vehicle and go through a self-executing abort sequence, which will finally result in the safe landing of the crew module in the water about 10 km off the coast of Sriharikota. 

What Will Happen on 21st October?

On 21st October, the Crew Escape System Test Vehicle will conduct its initial demonstration flight. The main aim behind this project is to see a demonstration of ISRO’s human spaceflight capability by launching a human crew to an orbit of 400 km and bringing them safely back to Earth. 

This will happen after two successful missions – Chandrayan-3 and Aditya L-1 (both lunar and solar missions). This will be an unmanned flight—during which a similar unpressurized crew module will be sent into space.

Gaganyaan Mission 2023 Date & Time

The Gaganyaan Mission, which is to be launched by the ISRO, aims to send a four-person crew into space. This mission, which was originally scheduled to launch in 2022, was later postponed to 2023. Gaganyaan mission will launch on 21st October, 2023 between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM IST, Sriharikota Spaceport will host the first test.
