CISCE To Introduce Re-Evaluation for Class 10: In a landmark decision, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced that it will conduct a re-evaluation of answer sheets of Class 10 and Class 12 students from 2024 onwards. This is an addendum to the existing rule of re-checking of answer scripts. As per the new guidelines, students who are dissatisfied with their re-checking results can apply for a re-valuation in the next step.
Students can only apply for re-valuation of those subjects for which they have applied for re-checking. Thus, an ICSE Class 10 or ISC student cannot request re-valuation directly.

ICSE and ISC Re-Checking Process
As CICSE introduces Re-evaluation for Class 10 and ISC Exam, it is advisable to revisit key details of the ICSE re-checking process, which are as follows:
- In re-checking, the education board only examines whether all answers have been marked or not.
- Also, the concerned person from the board also re-calculates the marks of each question and tallies with the given marks.
- Further, the board also checks whether extra sheets are attached to the main answer booklet or not.
- Students have to deposit INR 1,000 per subject for re-checking.

ICSE and ISC Re-Evaluation Process
After re-checking, students can now apply for the re-evaluation process. Details of the ICSE and ISC Re-Evaluation process are mentioned below:
- An expert teacher from any ICSE school will re-examine the answer booklet.
- Although students have the opportunity to either gain or lose marks during the re-evaluation process, CISCE has not provided information on whether any measures will be taken against teachers whose examination papers were re-evaluated, resulting in changes to students’ scores.
