Stipend Offered

For two years, NCRA-TIFR Research Scholars enrolled in the Ph.D. programme get a monthly stipend of Rs. 31,000/-. Research Scholars enrolled in the Integrated Ph.D. course get a monthly stipend of Rs. 21,000 in the first year and Rs. 31,000 in the subsequent two years. After completing the Graduate School prerequisites and registering for a Ph.D. degree, the monthly stipend for both Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. students is increased to Rs. 35,000/-. A travel grant for overseas attendance at conferences or joint research projects is also available to Research Scholars, along with an annual contingency grant of Rs. 40,000/- (Rs. 25,000 for Integrated Ph.D. students in the first year) that is tenable for up to five years.

Admissions at NCRA University Pune

The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) and the TIFR entrance exam (administered by TIFR-Mumbai) are the two primary entry points for the admissions process. A written exam and two interviews serve as the foundation for both selection processes. Every year, the interviews are held in late June (JEST) and March of the following year (TIFR), whereas the written exams are normally administered in early December (TIFR test) and mid-February (JEST).
