Anna University Application Form 2025

Application forms for Anna University have been released for all the Undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2025. The application form consists of some personal questions and academic-related information which is asked of the candidate. 

The application form is available in online mode. The last date to submit the application form for undergraduate courses through TNEA was June 6, 2025.

How to Apply for Anna University Admission?

Anna University offers admission to its university through the centralized admission system. Below mentioned are all the steps which will be required to get admission in courses like engineering, science, management and other related fields:

  • Visit the Anna University website.
  • Open the admission enrollment window.
  • Fill up the application by providing the required information.
  • Submit your scanned copies of the photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fee.

Once all of this is done, the candidate’s admit card will come, download the admit card. After passing the entrance exam, make sure you go for the counselling sessions. 

The last step will be document verification, after which the candidates will be allotted seats after selecting their choice of course.

Mode of Payment

Here is all the required information about the mode of payment, which will be required at the time of registration:

  1. Students who want to pursue courses like BE/B.Tech/B. Arch will have to pay only INR 500. Those from the SC/ST reserved categories only have to pay INR 250.
  2. Students must make sure that they keep all documents, like signatures and photographs, ready in JPEG format and the size as prescribed by the form.
  3. Keep in mind, an application form without relevant information, mark sheets, or photographs will not be accepted.
  4. In the end, only shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling process.

Anna University Entrance Exam 2025

Anna University provides admission to several professional programs based on the student’s marks from the entrance exam. The university conducts TANCET or Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2025, which is conducted for MBA, MArch, MTech & other PG courses. The TANCET 2025 exam for MCA and MBA courses was held on 22nd March, 2025.

Exam Pattern

The pattern for the TANCET has always remained the same, that is, it has a total of 100 questions. Apart from this, the period of the exam has also always been the same, which is 2 hours. As for the syllabus, it varies from candidate to candidate as it depends on what course he/she is applying for. 

Anna University Counselling Process 2025

The counselling process for any university admission is conducted after the result declaration. This year, the counselling process will commence through online mode. The candidate will have to log in through the website, where they will be required to enter their user ID & password to download their call letter. 

Keep in mind that the candidates get their seats allotted based on the marks obtained in the examination, based on the merit list & entrance examination.

It is expected that the counselling process for all the candidates will tentatively start in July 2025 for undergraduate courses. The admission process is ongoing for some postgraduate programs.

Documents Required for Counselling 2025

You must upload scanned copies of all your documents during the TNEA registration process. The documents would be verified to confirm your eligibility and academic qualifications. You need to bring these documents for the counselling process.

  1. 10+2, Graduation and Master’s mark sheet.
  2. A deposit of INR 5000 will be required at the time of counselling in the form of DD.
  3. Migration certificate.
  4. Caste certificate (if the candidate falls under the reserved category).
  5. Counselling letter.
  6. Filled application form
  7. Scorecard of the entrance exam and receipt of the seat allocation. 

How Much Percentage is Required for Anna University?

The percentage you require for admission to Annua University depends on the course, reservation category, and your college preferences. Courses like engineering and computer science have higher cut-offs. On the other hand, if you have reservations, the cut-offs are fewer. The cut-offs for top-affiliated colleges are generally higher than other colleges.

Is JEE required for Anna University?

There is no JEE requirement for admission to Anna University. Therefore, you do not have to sit for the Joint Entrance Examination to enrol in an undergraduate program. Anna University follows the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling process. This means your 12th exam marks in relevant subjects are considered for admission.

JEE is not applicable for postgraduate admissions. Master’s course admissions are usually based on entrance exam scores. For example, TANCET scores are considered for admission into MCA, MBA, and some ME/M. Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan programs.

Is it Hard to Get Into Anna University?

It is moderately competitive to get into Anna University, especially if you are applying for engineering programs such as Electronics, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.  The admission difficulty depends on various factors, such as the campus  (such as the College of Engineering, Guindy) and the course. It also depends on which student category you come from- General, ST, SC/OBC. 

  1. The selection is based on board examination marks for students from Tamil Nadu. You need to secure at 95% or above for admission to top colleges.
  2. NRI and foreign students have separate quotas. 
  3. Top-affiliated campuses usually have higher cut-offs.  For example, the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), etc. Therefore, you need to score well in your higher secondary exams.
