JIPMAT Counselling Process

The JIPMAT Counselling process is an essential step in a student’s journey towards the Integrated Program in Management. The Indian Institute of Management Jammu and Bodh Gaya conduct their own JIPMAT Counselling. The BBA+MBA program is a 5-year management program offering 120 seats in total to students after completion of class 12th. All details about the JIPMAT Counselling Process are covered in this blog.

The JIPMAT Counselling Process might be a little different for both the participating institutes based on the requirements and preferences of IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu individually. The general idea of the JIPMAT Counselling Process is covered here.

*It depends on the JIPMAT Colleges if they will conduct group discussions or interviews or not. There are no Interviews conducted in the host institutions.

JIPMAT Counselling Process

The JIPMAT Counselling Process begins after the final merit list has been released and candidates are invited to confirm admissions at IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. The shortlisted candidates will be sent an email by the institution they have applied for. 

The email will also have a link to fill out the admission form a copy of which has to be produced at the time of counselling. A list of all documents required will also be sent to the candidates via the same email. The candidates will be evaluated on the basis of Academic Profile Rating, Gender Profile, Personal Interview & Group Discussion and Expression of Interest. 

The institutes solely have the right to organise the Interview and Group Discussions or not. The candidates can keep the following in mind before appearing for the JIPMAT Counselling Process. 

  1. Before appearing for the counselling process it is essential to make sure that the candidates carry all the original documents as well as copies of the same. 
  2. If the applicant has to pursue a long journey JIPMAT Counselling Process, it is advisable to come one day before the commencement of the process. 
  3. Also, it is wise to recheck the date and time allotted for the counselling program before visiting. 
  4. The candidates will also be required to pay the acceptance fees of INR 50,000 to confirm their admission to the Integrated Management Program.
  5. This acceptance fee will be deducted from their first instalment of tuition fees. 
  6. The merit list, cutoff list, application form, admission form and admit card must be carried along with other essential documents. 
  7. The candidates must make sure they are eligible in all respects and can prove their eligibility for admission otherwise their admission will stand cancelled.
  8. Due to any reason if the candidates fail to appear on the date and time of counselling without initially informing the institute, their admission shall be cancelled.

JIPMAT Expression of Interest

This step is exclusive to JIPMAT Exam. All candidates who are willing to apply to any of the JIPMAT Colleges need to register for the Expression of Interest. Once the candidates are screened for their interest in the Integrated Program in Management, then the institutes prepare their final merit lists only considering students who have registered for EoI and paid the required fee.

Apart from the conducting institutes, there are other colleges too that accept the JIPMAT scores to take admissions in their Integrated Programs in Management. A complete list of such colleges is given below:

FAQs

Is there any interview after JIPMAT?

No, there is no interview process or group discussion after the JIPMAT exam. It depends on the selection criteria of the JIPMAT Colleges whether an interview will be conducted or not. 

How many seats are offered in JIPMAT?

A total of 120 seats are offered in JIPMAT counting seats offered in IIM Bodh Gaya as well as IIM Jammu. The institutes individually offer 60 seats each in the IPM Program. 

What is a good score for JIPMAT Exam?

A score of 354-360 is considered the best score for JIPMAT Exam for both institutions. A score till around 335 is considered a good JIPMAT Score. 

JIPMAT is not a very tough examination to crack if one starts preparing in time, that is at least one month before the examination. It is essential to go through the JIPMAT Syllabus, JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria and Exam Pattern as a part of the preparation for the exam.
