The official dates for the ICAR IARI Assistant Mains Exam (2022-23) have been scheduled to be conducted on the 7th, 8th and 10th of July 2023. The admit cards for the said exam (CBT) were released on the 1st of July 2023 (by the conducting authorities). 

ICAR IARI Assistant Exam Dates 

Individuals who partook in the ICAR IARI Prelim Exams on the 29th of July 2022 are needed to undertake the mains exam on the 7th, 8th and 10th of July 2023. The application window for the said exam remained open between the 7th of May 2022 and to 25th of June 2022. ICAR IARI Assistant Exam Application (Online) 

The registration links for the ICAR IARI Exams were released by the authorities on their official website. As of 2022-23, around 462 vacancies were released by the official body for the posts of technician. Candidates who wished to sit for the exam had to register themselves between the 7th of Mya 2022 to 25th of June 2022. 

How to Apply Online for ICAR IARI Assistant Recruitment?

Individuals who wish to apply for the ICAR IARI Exam (regardless of the year) can use the following outlines to guide them through the registration procedure.

  • Applicants must foremost visit ICAR’s official website. 
  • Once redirected to the home page, one must select the option of ‘ Recruitment Cell’. This will show a new option of ‘Notice Board’. Once the ‘Notice Board’ option is clicked upon, applicants select the option of ‘Assistant/Technician’. 
  • Doing so will take users to a new page where they will come across their application forms. 
  • Once the application forms are filled, candidates must attract their documents after adhering to the prescribed sizes. 
  • It is critical for aspirants to pay the requisite amount of fee to ensure a successful registration process.

Candidates appearing for the ICAR IARI Exam must procure the following documents to ensure a seamless application process.

Registration Fee

Candidates are mandated to pay the requisite amount of the registration fee to complete the application process successfully. Those who are not able to pay the application fee by the given deadline will not be permitted to undertake the said exam. It must be noted that the ICAR IARI application fee encompasses both the examination fee and registration fee. Individuals belonging to the marginalised sections of society (UR/OBC-NCL(NCL)/EWS) are required to pay a total amount of INR 1200 (Examination fee+Application Fee). Female candidates, members of the SC and ST communities, Ex-Servicemen, and physically disadvantaged individuals must pay an amount of INR 500. 

ICAR IARI Assistant Exam Eligibility Criteria 

Individuals who wish to work as technicians or assistants under the aegis of ICAR must undertake the ICAR IARI Exam. However, it is critical for such candidates to evaluate the prerequisites prior to applying for the said exam. Only if they meet the established criteria will they be considered eligible to take the exam. Following are the eligibility criteria for the said exam. 

  • Candidate must be holding citizenship of India/Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet 
  • Candidate must have completed their graduation degree from any notable institution in India. 
  • The age limit for applying for the said exam is between 20 to 30 years. The maximum age limit for those who are already serving ICAR employees is 45.

ICAR IARI Assistant Selection Process

Candidates who are deemed eligible by the authorities will be selected on the basis of a three-step procedure, including the Prelims, Mains and the Skill Test. Individuals who qualify for their prelims and mains will be called for the Skill Test. The Skill Test is conducted by authorities to gauge an individual’s proficiency in handling and using computers. Have a look at the minimum qualifying marks required for prelims and mains. 

  • Candidates belonging to the Unreserved Categories must acquire a minimum eligible score of 30% to qualify for the Prelims/ Mains. 
  • OBC and EWS individuals are required to obtain a minimum aggregate score of 25% to qualify for their prelims and mains. 
  • Individuals belonging to the SC/ST communities must acquire a score of 20% to qualify for their prelims/mains. 

ICAR IARI Exam Pattern

Candidates appearing for the ICAR IARI Prelims and Mains rounds must qualify with minimum eligible scores to sit for the Skill Test. Aspirants should review the predefined exam pattern of any exam to have a sense of the structure and pattern of the questions that may be asked throughout the exam. 

Prelim Exam Pattern 

The ICAR IARI questionnaire comprises four major sections and 100 MCQ questions (each carrying a weightage of 2 marks). Incorrect or erroneous responses will result in the deduction of 0.3 marks. Candidates will be allotted a time frame of 80 minutes to complete their exams.
