What is the Full Form of NCPCR?

The full form of NCPCR is the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, which was passed by the Parliament in December 2005, allowed for the establishment of NCPCR in March 2007. The RTE Act and the POCSO Act, two laws that safeguard children’s rights, are under the purview of the NCPCR.

• Investigate child rights violations and that legal action be taken where necessary;
• Look into issues with children that require extra care and protection, such as kids in distress, marginalized and underprivileged children, children in difficulty with the law, children who aren’t related to anybody, children without parents, and children of prisoners, and suggest the best corrective actions.
• Conduct and encourage research in the area of children’s rights.
