History of Neemrana Fort
The fort was founded in 1464 AD by Rao Rajdeo, a descendant of Prithviraj Chauhan III, the fort has witnessed the rise and fall of many Indian dynasties.
- Initially, it served as a strategic location for Rajput rulers to guard against external invasions.
- Over the centuries, the fort has changed hands multiple times, with each ruler leaving a distinct mark on its architecture and overall grandeur.
- In the 19th century, Neemrana Fort was captured by the Marathas and became a princely state under their patronage.

Neemrana was once ruled by Rajput Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan III, during which time the fort was constructed in the year 1464. It later became the third capital of the king’s descendants.
This beautiful ruin, which was constructed in 1464, was left abandoned in 1947. However, it was acquired in 1986 and then restored into a stunning resort located near Delhi. The resort was finally opened to the public in 1991.
