Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was an Indian civil engineer, administrator and statesman. He served the 19th Dewan of Mysore. Kalpana Chawla

Kalpana Chawla was the first Indian woman of India to fly in space. She was an astronaut and aerospace engineer. In 2001, she made her first spaceflight aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia.
