1. Newton’s Laws of Motion

1. The law of inertia– According to this law, an object that rest stays at the result. Similarly, an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force. For example, a magician pulls a tablecloth from under the dishes. The dishes in this case remain in place due to their inertia.
2. Second Law (F = ma)-  The force acted on the object is equal to its mass times its acceleration. For example, pushing a loaded cart is more difficult than pushing an empty cart.
3. Action and Reaction- This law means that every action has its equal and opposite reaction. For example, when you swim and push water backwards with your legs and arms, the water pushes you forward.

2. Law of Universal Gravitation

One of the interesting facts about the law of physics in daily life is the law of gravitational pull. Discovered by Isaac Newton this law states that every particle attracts every other particle. This happens with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses, and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centres. This explains how the Earth revolves around the Sun, the reason for the falling objects, and the structure of the universe.

3. Laws of Thermodynamics

1. Conservation and energy– This means energy cannot be created or destroyed. Energy only changes forms.
2. Second law– When energy is transferred, some of it becomes unavailable to work and it manifests as increased entropy. For example, burning wood can change organised chemical energy into dispersed energy like light and heat.
3. Third Law- As the temperature of a crystalline structure reaches zero its entropy reaches a minimum.  For example, when water freezes into ice its entropy decreases.

4. Maxwell’s Equations

These equations unify magnetism and electricity into the theory of electromagnetism. For example, Ampère’s Law (with Maxwell’s Addition) states that electric currents and changing electric fields can create magnetic fields.  Maxwell’s equations are instrumental in predicting the existence of electromagnetic waves that travel at the speed of light. 

5. Einstein’s Theory of Relativity

1. Special Relativity-  The laws of physics are the same for all observers in uniform motion. Moreover, the speed of light remains the same irrespective of the observer’s movement. This leads to situations like time dilation.

6. Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle

As per Coulomb’s Law, the force between two charged objects is based on the charges and the distance between them.

9. Hooke’s Law

However, when you let it go it returns to its original form. As per Hooke’s Law the more you compress or push a spring the more force it pulls back with or pushes. That is, as long as you do not stretch it too far.

10. Archimedes’ Principle

Supposedly, you get into a bathtub. In this case, you can notice that the water level rises. This is because your body is pushing the water out of the way.  As per Archimedes’ Principle, the object in water feels an upward force equal to the water it displaces. This explains why some things float and others don’t.
