The University of Witwatersrand located in Johannesburg, is a South African public research oriented university. It is referred to as Wits. Founded in 1896 by the name of South African School of Mines in Kimberley, Wits University is believed to be the third oldest South African university till date.The University of the Witwatersrand is a world-renowned research based University in Africa which is popular for its engagement in academics and research based excellence.
