The University of Canterbury was laid out in 1873 in the focal point of Christchurch (presently the Arts Center). It is the second college in the nation of New Zealand which is a non-benefit advanced education establishment. The University of Canterbury grounds are arranged in 76 hectares of the chronicled scene and the Christchurch suburb of Ilam.
