The University of Camerino is a public university in Camerino, Italy. According to the 2011 and 2012 Guida Censis Repubblica rankings, it is the best university in Italy among universities with fewer than 10,000 students. It claims to be founded in 1336 and was officially recognized by the Pope in 1727. The University of Camerino (UNICAM) has retained its youthful spirit seven centuries after its creation. It continues to make significant contributions to the city's economic, social, and cultural life and its region. The university is affiliated with UNIMED. According to the QS World University Rankings 2021, the university is ranked between 801 - 1000 and between 501 - 600 as per THE Rankings 2021.

UNICAM is the first university in Italy to implement quality control procedures in its institutional activities by the international standard UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 of the French certification company GROUPE AFAQ. UNICAM prides itself on its constantly evolving building structure and equipment: teaching and scientific libraries as well as a large number of research laboratories, modern sports facilities, dormitories in more than 900 places, student unions, and institutions. In addition, the university is home to notable alumni including Piero Farabollini (Geologist), Cesare Bocci (Italian Actor), Giorgia Latini (Member of the Parliament of Italy), and Barabara Re (Researcher).
