Singapore Institute of Management private institute was established in 1964 by the Economic Development Board. It was created to encourage professional managers and leaders who can become the flag-bearers of Singapore's economic development. This Open University received accreditation by the United Kingdom Open University and was renamed as SIM Open University Centre in 2002.
Campus, Courses and Infrastructure
In Singapore, this university has two campuses- Clementi Road and Namly Avenue. The Clementi Road campus is divided into four blocks with all essential facilities like lecture theatres, computer/science laboratories, libraries, multi-purpose hall, eating outlets, administration office, athletes gym, bookshop, performing arts theatre, student activity room and tennis courts.
The Namly Avenue campus also has enough facilities like lecture theatres, eating outlets, administration offices, and entrepreneurship centers. In addition to full-time programs and part-time programs, this institute offers executive programs and conferences, entrepreneurship programs, customized learning, and development solutions..

The university has created a name for itself over the past few decades. It offers some of the best management courses in the country. The university has a list of notable alumni. Some of the notable alumni names include Inspector (NS) Gim Joo Hyung, Singaporean MMA Star Tiffany Teo, Tennis Coach Jensen Hiu, Dr. Mohd. Effendy Rajab.
