History, Affiliations and Rankings

Selkirk College is British Columbia's oldest rural community college, founded in 1965 after a referendum by local taxpayers to provide a close-to-home post-secondary option. The university first opened its doors in Castlegar, Canada in 1966, with 458 students enrolled in four programmes: University Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Forest Technology, and Electronics. It is a fully accredited public college in the post-secondary education system of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is affiliated with the Colleges and Institutes Canada, Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association, Canadian Bureau for International Education and CUP. Selkirk College is among the top institutions in the world as per the reports of many renowned organisations.
