About the University

Saint Louis University was established in 1818 and is one of the most prestigious Catholic colleges. It is globally famous for extraordinary research, compassionate health care, and a strong commitment to faith and service. SLU's Midtown St. Louis campus spans 282 acres (114.1 hectares) and houses 129 buildings. Scott Hall, where the School of Law is housed, is located in downtown St. Louis. The university installed 2,300 Echo Dots, the hardware for Amazon's "smart assistant," Alexa, in students' dorm rooms for the 2018-19 school year. SLU is the first institution in the United States to install an Amazon Alexa-compatible device in every student apartment or residence hall room. There are over 87 student majors and 83 graduated class disciplines, alongside programs flexible for working adults at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including 25 online programs. SLU has the following colleges- College of Arts and Sciences, College of Philosophy and Letters, Doisy College of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Center for Advanced Dental Education, College for Public Health and Social Justice, School of Social Work, Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, School of Education, School of Law, Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology to name a few. SLU also has an illustrious alumni connection.
