One of the newest institutions in Germany, Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg was established in 1993. The university is formed after the combination of a Technical University, a Teacher Training College, and a Medical School. The University is comprised of 9 faculties and almost 13,800 students. Its affiliation is with Global U8 (GU8). It ranked #601-800 by world university ranking, #151-200 by young university rankings and #769 by Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report for 2020
