National Chung Hsing University was founded during the Japenese occupation of Taiwan,and was called the Advanced Academy of Agronomy and Forestry. It is one of the top universities located in central Taiwan. The university consists of 8 colleges namely, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Science, Life Sciences, Law, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Veterinary Medicine, Management, and a separate Continuing Education division. National Chung Hsing University offers a wide range of professional courses across various disciplines. Some of the popular courses include Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Science. Currently, the university is a part of Taiwan’s Public Ivy. it is spread on 53 hectares of land in the south of Taichung City. The university also owns four experimental forests for student's research purposes and better practical experience. The university also owns two farms for their agriculture department. The university also offers international study programs for which it encourages its students to take part in the Taiwan International Graduate Program. The university has also achieved some scientific research including developing a vaccine for swine atrophic rhinitis, and breeding papayas that are resistant to the disease ringspot. National Chung Hsing University’s Art Centre has comprised of a collection of nearly 500 works of art, both Chinese and International.
