Established in the year 1958 as Wuxi Institute of Light Industry, the university was merged with two other colleges and renamed as Jiangnan University by the Ministry of Education in 2001 at Wuxi, People’s Republic of China. It is one of the key national universities of “Project 211” and recipient of the “First-Class Discipline Project” under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China. The university campus sprawling across 208 hectares has a student population of 20,122 full-time undergraduate, 8169 postgraduate students including 1,276 international students. Jiangnan University offers 51 undergraduate, 58 postgraduate and 28 research programs in popular majors of science, technology, medicine, mathematics, law, design, humanities and sports across numerous departments in 18 schools.
