History, Affiliations, and Rankings

Edge Hill College was founded on January 24, 1885, by a group of seven Liverpool merchants and benefactors on Durning Road in Edge Hill, Liverpool. It was also the first non-denominational professional development college for women in England, and it was named after the region in which it was located. Edge Hill was one of just two colleges in England at the time that combined teacher training with degree studies. The university was awarded the authority to issue research degrees in August 2008. Universities UK is a member of the organization. According to the Times Higher Education Rankings 2022, it is rated 801-1000th globally.

Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses

Edge Hill University is located in Ormskirk, West Lancashire's administrative center, on a 160-acre (650,000-m2) campus. It is about halfway between Liverpool and Preston, the county town. The majority of the University's topics and departments are housed in specialized structures built in the 1990s. The university also has a campus in Manchester City Centre, which is mostly used for medical science studies and is located in the St. James Buildings. BA/BSc and LLB degrees, health pre-registration certifications, and teacher training degrees are among the undergraduate programs offered by Edge Hill University. PGCEs, Master's degrees, MBAs, MPhil and Ph.D. research degrees, and MRes programs are among the postgraduate options. Professional development options are available at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
