Chulalongkorn University (CU), is a public and self-sufficient research university in Bangkok, Thailand. This University is the 4th oldest University in Thailand.During the reign of King Vajiravudh, the University became the Civil Service College of King Chulalongkorn. The Rockfeller foundation donated lots of wealth to build this University. In 1917, King Vajiravudh renamed the university as "Chulalongkorn University". Chulalongkorn University is one of the premier National research Institutions in Thailand. CU holds a record of only University from Thailand to have position in APRU. Getting into CU is very difficult because of very high competition .After the establishment of this University, the king approved the use of his symbol,Phra Kiao as the school emblem. As the school was converted into the university, the king approved the use of Phra kiao. Phra Kiao is considered as a symbol of royalty and is printed on the school uniforms.
