Bucknell University is primarily a Liberal Arts educational institute situated in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in the year 1846, it offers nearly 50 majors and 60 minors across various fields such as Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Management, Education, Theatre and Dance, East Asian Studies, etc. The University has three departments namely, The College of Arts and Sciences, Freeman College of Management, and the College of Engineering. In the engineering department, 5-year dual degree programs like Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Bachelors of Arts or the conventional courses like Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, etc are offered. The other famous program of the university includes a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies, BA in Anthropology, BSc Mathematical Economics, MSc Chemistry, etc. With an aim to bring a change in the society by educating and empowering people, Bucknell University was established by the Baptists of Pennsylvania and since its inception, it has gradually expanded in terms of the number of enrollments as well as the size of faculty. At Bucknell, education is not just limited to the classrooms but ample opportunities are provided to students in various fields apart from academics to nurture growth. Undergradute students also have the option to get involved in research activities right from the first year through Bucknell’s undergradute research program. The campus of Bucknell University is spread on a sprawling area of around 445 acres along the West side of Susquehanna. The residences for students offer various facilities such as a lounge, cafe, and canteen where all kinds of food items are available. The university also has one of the largest sports programs in the country where around 27 teams represent the institute in various tournaments and series. Apart from scores of clubs and organizations, Bucknell also houses buildings such as EL center, the Gerhard Fieldcenter, Olin Science and Rooke Chemistry Building.
