History, Affiliations and Rankings
Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS) was formerly called AIS St Helens. It was founded in 1990 and is counted amongst New Zealand's largest privately-owned degree-granting institutions. It was first founded in downtown Auckland. Three years after its establishment, the institute moved into the former building of St Helens Maternity Hospital located in Albert, Auckland, and converted the building into a tertiary residential campus. The institute is currently affiliated with the Center for Research in International Education (CRIE). AIS’s world ranking is #5973, Continental Ranking is #64, and country ranking is #14.
Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses
This institute has a great infrastructure. The institute now has two campuses in Mt Albert: St Helens Campus, located at 28a Linwood Ave, and Asquith Campus, located at 120 Asquith Ave. . This campus offers courses in English language, business, and hospitality management, tourism management, business administration, and information technology.Â

Auckland Institute of Studies is fully accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and is ranked as a Category 1 institution. AIS holds three Exporter of the Year Awards (1997, 1999 & 2011) in recognition of its success as an exporter of New Zealand education. Here are some of the alumni which are Anna Medvedeva works as a relationship services manager at ANZ Bank. Kenji Murakami is a New Zealand Society of Actuaries (NZSA) member. Chandan Ohri is the head of IT advisory and a partner at KPMG New Zealand. Emmanuel Ramos Ortile works for Robert Walters NZ. Mehrunnissa is a Delivery Center Consultant at IBM. Lesieli Filivao is an accounts manager at New Zealand Industrial Specialists. Vivi Lu is a legal executive at Amicus Law. Mi Kyung Ryu is a test analyst at Gentrack.
