The Azad Hind Fauj, also known as the Indian National Army (INA), played a very important role in India’s freedom struggle. Let’s understand each option carefully to find out who the real founder was.
Option A: Rash Behari Bose
Rash Behari Bose was the true founder of the Azad Hind Fauj. He was an Indian revolutionary who lived in Japan for many years. During World War II, he worked with Indian prisoners of war and Indian communities in Southeast Asia. In 1942, he laid the foundation of the Azad Hind Fauj with the aim of fighting the British and gaining freedom for India. Later, he handed over the leadership of the INA to Subhas Chandra Bose, who became its most famous leader.
Option B: Bal Gangadhar Tilak
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was one of the earliest leaders of India’s freedom movement. He strongly believed in “Swaraj” (self-rule) and inspired many Indians through his writings and speeches. However, he died in 1920, long before the Azad Hind Fauj was formed in 1942. So, he could not have founded it.
Option C: Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh was a brave freedom fighter who became a symbol of courage and sacrifice. He fought against the British using revolutionary methods and was hanged in 1931 at a very young age. Since the Azad Hind Fauj was formed more than 10 years after his death, he could not have been its founder.
Option D: Jawaharlal Nehru
Jawaharlal Nehru was an important leader in the Indian National Congress and later became the first Prime Minister of India. While he supported India’s freedom movement, he had no role in founding the Azad Hind Fauj.
