Documents Required for GRE Exam
Candidates appearing for the GRE examination must possess essential documents. These documents must be presented at a test centre. The documents required for the GRE examination are as follows. Do note that mainly a government ID is required.
- The identification proof presented at the examination centre must be original. Photocopied or scanned IDs are not acceptable. Moreover, showing the ID on a mobile phone or an electronic device is not acceptable either. Hence, the physical copy must be present.
- The identification card presented has to be government-issued and must prove Indian citizenship (for Indian candidates)

The ETS of the Educational Testing Service has launched the GRE examination even at home. The initiative was started during the pandemic of 2020. The eligibility for GRE exam at home is the following:
- Candidates must have a desktop or a laptop to take the test. It is not recommended to use a mobile phone for taking the GRE test.
- Headphones or earphones are not allowed during the examination. Moreover, all the internal and external communication can be done over the phone.
