California State University, Dominguez Hills campus in Carson has issued a notice that states that more student housing is coming to the university. This proposed Housing Phase 4 project is located north of the pre-existing residence hall.
This project is worth $97 million (INR 9.7 crores) with anticipation to provide space to 288 students. The students will settle in single, double and triple residence rooms. This student accommodation project is the solution to all the problems students are facing.
How the Accommodation Will Look Like?
All the residents will be put in clusters of 36 students in the company with one resident advisor. Apart from this, each cluster will have rooms of various sizes, communal restrooms, activity rooms and much more.
Students will get access to the student lounge. This lounge will connect to two clusters. All the sharing clusters will adjoin floor-to-floor via stairs.
Steinberg Hart is responsible for the design of this four-storey building. The building will split into two wings.
There are plans to have multi-purpose rooms, administrative spaces, and laundry facilities. The students will get more facilities which are also in the pipeline.
This student accommodation will come with dining commons. These dining commons will come with 315 indoor seats. On the outdoors, there will be 50 seats.
The new student dormitory is in the process of making with the aim to provide accommodation to all low-income students.
This housing is financed by the State’s Higher Education Student Housing Grant Program for 2022-2023. To conclude, the project will be commencing on February 2024 and finish by May 2026.
