Texas-based developer Brent Little believes that he has found the perfect place to put a 605-bed for student accommodation. The site comes with an area of 3.16 acres. The best thing about this is, the site is less than a mile from the UCF (University of Central Florida). This university is one of the largest colleges in Florida.
The property will soon be vacant and the Little Company Fountain Residential Partners will begin with their construction. Currently, the land is being occupied by a 60-year-old church.
Apart from this, another developer plans to demolish a Golden Corral restaurant located on State Road 50. A 556-bed student housing will be built here.
These are just a few examples of student accommodations where the developers are planning to build student accommodations. All these projects have one aim, to provide UCF’s growing student population who are off-campus with student accommodation.
A recent report by Cushman and Wakefield suggests, Orleans has more off-campus student housing projects in their hand than anywhere else in Florida.
As of recently, there were 32 student housing projects in the pipeline or will be starting soon. Out of all these projects, there are six of them which are in the process of making 5,241 beds.
Why Orlando Leads in Student Housing Projects?
There are many factors which come into play. As can be seen, UCF’s size as a university is one of the largest in terms of students. This has reached the stage where the university is running out of off-campus housing.
Reports suggest that the rate of off-campus housing is 99 per cent.
