Study in New Zealand: UC International Prospective Students Scholarships October Round  Application Open

The University of Canterbury is offering International Prospective Students Scholarships. The scholarships is available to international undergraduate students. Under this category, a total of 3 scholarships are available. That is, the Tan Sri Datuk Oh Siew Nam P.S.M., P.J.N Malaysian Scholarship, UC College of Engineering International Scholarship, and UC International First Year Scholarship (Offshore & UCIC). The benefit is up to $20,000 depending on the scholarship.

The Tan Sri Datuk Oh Siew Nam P.S.M., P.J.N Malaysian Scholarship is only available to Malaysian citizens. However, the other two scholarships are open to international students of any nationality. The deadline for the submission of application is 31 October 2023.

UC College of Engineering International Scholarship

The UC College of Engineering International Scholarship is available to students who are enrolling full-time for a  BE(Hons) degree. A total of 35 scholarships are available. The benefit is  $15,000 (INR 7.45 lakh). The university considers individuals who demonstrate academic achievement, express interest in Engineering, engage in community service, cultural involvement, and sports activities, and align with the university’s strategic goals.

The UC International First Year Scholarship (Offshore)

The UC International First-Year Scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolling full-time in the 1st year of a program. The scholarship benefit is $15,000 (7.45 lakh) for a duration of one year. The Council of the University awards the scholarship based on the recommendations of a selection committee. Therefore, they consider factors such as academic achievement, financial condition, character, leadership potential, and alignment with the university’s strategic goals.
