The Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) offers scholarships to students for the academic year 2024.25. The scholarships cover the full or partial fees of the selected students. It can even include a gift voucher or a job offer. Out of the scholarships available, the deadline for 8 scholarships are due this month. These scholarships are the Engineering construction and infrastructure scholarships and the primary industries scholarship. Interested students can apply for these scholarships before 16th February 2024.
The Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Scholarships
A total of 3 scholarships are available under this category. These are as follows.
- Mitre 10 Mega Nelson (Construction Scholarship)- The scholarship is available to the students enrolled in an NZ Certificate in Construction Trade Skills – Carpentry Strand for 2024. The selected students can receive a $1,000 Mitre 10 Mega voucher to cover their equipment expenses.
- New Zealand Aviation Federation (Aviation Engineering Scholarship)- This scholarship is available to students enrolling in the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering course, The benefit is an amount of $8,000 towards the tuition fees.
- New Zealand Aviation Federation (Aviation Engineering Women in Trades Scholarship)– Those enrolling in the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering or demonstrating interest in aviation business can apply. The benefit is an amount of $8,000 towards tuition fees. However, only women are eligible for this scholarship.
Primary Industries Scholarship
NIMT offers a total of 5 scholarships under this category. These are as follows. Note; the primary industries scholarships are meant for 3rd year students at the university.
- Constellation Brands (Viticulture and Winemaking Scholarship)-This scholarship is available to Bachelor of Viticulture and Winemaking second and third-year students. The benefit is an amount of $ 3,000 scholarship towards fees.
- Wine Marlborough Ltd (Viticulture and Winemaking Scholarship)- 3rd year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Viticulture and Winemaking in 2024 can apply. The scholarship benefit is an amount of $ 1,500.
- NZ King Salmon (Aquaculture (Fry) Scholarship); Those enrolled in primary industry programmes can apply. For example, the New Zealand Certificate in Aquaculture (Level 3), New Zealand Diploma in Primary Industry Business Management (Level 5), etc. The benefit is an amount of $ 2,500 scholarship towards fees.
- NZ King Salmon | Aquaculture (Parr) Scholarship – The scholarship is available to students enrolled in either a 3rd year Bachelor of Aquaculture and Marine Conservation program, or NMIT Te Pūkenga Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture. The benefit is an amount of $ 2,500 towards fees.
- NZ King Salmon (Aquaculture (Smolt) Scholarship)- Third-year students of NMIT Te Pūkenga Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture or Bachelor of Aquaculture and Marine Conservation can apply. The scholarship benefit is an amount of $ 5,000 scholarship towards fees.
