Study in Australia:  Flinders University Opens AGRTS Applications for International Students

The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships is open to international students to study at Flinders University. The scholarships are intended for students who wish to pursue a higher degree by research (Ph.D. or Master of Arts) in Australia. However, the applicants have to be first time students. 

The  AGRTPS would cover the tuition fees, and the living expenses of the international student. Additionally, an overseas health cover would be provided. The scholarships are available for a duration of 3 years for doctoral students and 2 years for Masters students.

However, only a limited number of scholarships are available. The University typically grant 5 AGRTPS scholarships to international students.The deadline for applications is 4 August, 2023.

AGRTPS Eligibility Requirements 

To be eligible for AGRTPS applicants must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be an international student who wants to pursue a full time higher degree by research in Australia. The student must have enrolled for the same.
• However, the applicant should not be a citizen of New Zealand and should not hold Australian citizenship
• Additionally, he/she must satisfy all entry requirements of the University. This includes meeting the English language proficiency requirements.
• The applicant must have received an offer letter from the Flinders University. The scholarship committee also considers students who have applied for admission.

AGRTPS Benefits 

The benefits of the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships are as follows:

• A stipend of $33,000/INR 18.41 lakh per annum
• Moreover, the stipend provided would be tax free 
• An offset tuition fees for a maximum period of 3-4 years
• An establishment allowance of $1,485 to overseas students

Interested students must submit the necessary documents by visiting the official website of the university. It includes research proposals, 5 publications, academic transcripts, references, and proof of verbal commitment from a member of academic staff who will supervise the research.
