L&T Build India Scholarship

L&T Construction has launched the L&T Build India Scholarship programme for engineering students in their final year. This scholarship intends to aid deserving students in the core Civil/Electrical engineering programme in their academic endeavours. 

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to enrol in a two-year, full-time M.Tech programme in construction technology and management. The selected applicants would also earn a monthly stipend of 13,400 INR in addition to other benefits.

History

The L&T Build India Scholarship has a rich history dating back several decades. Established by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), one of India’s leading engineering and construction conglomerates, the scholarship program aims to nurture young engineering talent in the country. Since its inception, the scholarship has provided exceptional engineering students with a platform to pursue higher education and gain practical industry experience through internships and training programs. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to avail the benefits of this scholarship and pursue their M.Tech degree in Construction Technology & Management should first acquaint themselves with the eligibility criteria of the scholarship. The eligibility criteria are discussed below:

• The candidates must be in their last year of a bachelor’s degree in B.E./B.Tech. degree.
• The scholarship is only open to applicants with a core engineering specialisation in either electrical or civil engineering.
• In their BE or BTech course, they should have received a minimum grade of 70%, or a 7.0 GPA (out of 10).
• The applicants must have an inclination for building landmarks.

Benefits

The L&T scholarship programme is a sponsored 24-month initiative. The scholarship has the following advantages:

• Candidates can enrol full-time in an MTech programme in construction and management.
• They may take admitted to one of the following institutions for their postgraduate studies-IIT Madras, Delhi NIT, IIT Trichy, or NIT Surathkal
• The whole course fee will be covered by the scholarship. 
• Until they finish the L&T Build India scholarship programme, the students will earn a monthly stipend of INR 13,400.
• The applicants will be able to participate in real-world initiatives being done at L&T project locations.
• Applicants will also get placement opportunities after completing the course. 
• Candidates will also be provided with guidance and mentorship.
• Candidates will need to pay the Hostel Accommodation fee & Mess fee.
• Applicants must sign an agreement for a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs to successfully finish the course and then work for the organisation for a further 5 years after completion of their studies.

• After completing the L&T build India Scholarship 2023 – registration form, applicants must read, accept, and click the “submit” button on the terms and conditions page.
• On their registered email address and cellphone number, the candidates will get a username and password. To apply for the scholarship, they must log in to the website using this information.
• The candidates must fill up the application form accurately and click on submit. 

Selection Process

A panel from IIT and L&T will conduct a personal interview after the online written test to complete the selection process. The final selection will also be subject to the medical fitness of the candidate.
