Good morning to the respected teachers and students, Today I stand before you to discuss an important issue: Tobacco should be banned. In today’s world, most people consume tobacco and its related products, like cigarettes. Tobacco has been known for its harmful effects, yet people continue to consume it. But do you know the reason behind this? Why do people continue to consume despite being aware of the health risks? This is because tobacco includes nicotine, a very addictive chemical. Since these substances have a significant negative impact on health, tobacco use must be banned.

According to a study by the World Health Organization (WHO), Tobacco kills about 8 million people each year. Most people who consume tobacco products fall victim to diseases like cancer and heart and respiratory problems. These deadly diseases are far more difficult to treat and cost billions of dollars per year.  It acts as a burden to our healthcare system and economy, as all of this money could be used to address other health issues. 

The production of tobacco leads to deforestation and soil degradation, which harm the environment, while its consumption affects society. This habit can develop in children at a very young age due to peer pressure and misleading advertisements. The youth falling prey to such substances can make them slaves to lifetime health problems and financial burdens. That’s why it is important to ban tobacco to protect our future generations from such consequences.

In conclusion, it is very clear that tobacco not only harms one’s health but also harms society, the economy, and the environment.  By banning tobacco, we can save our future generation from falling for these deadly conditions, leading to a healthy future. A future which has not only healthy adults but also an efficient economy and healthcare system for everyone.
