3. SEBI Proposes ‘MF Lite Regulations’ for Mutual Funds:
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) proposed ‘MF Lite Regulations’ to ease rules for passively managed mutual fund schemes. This new framework aims to reduce compliance, foster innovation, and encourage competition, considering the lower risks in passive schemes compared to actively managed ones.

4. Paytm Payments Bank and Auditor Clash Over Financial Viability:
Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) is disputing with its auditor, JC Bhalla & Co., over financial viability concerns. The auditor suggested qualifying PPBL’s accounts due to regulatory curbs affecting business. PPBL argued its strong brand and planned capital infusion would support revival, crucial for obtaining a payment aggregator license.

5. Zerodha May Raise Brokerage Fees For Future Prospects:
Zerodha’s co-founder Nithin Kamath announced that Zerodha might reconsider its zero brokerage model or raise brokerage fees for futures and options trades. SEBI’s new regulations require market institutions to strictly adhere to their fee structures, prompting this potential change.

6. Government Plans PSU Bank Merger Round 2:
As per the sources, the Indian government is preparing for the second round of PSU bank mergers, considering options to merge UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Punjab & Sind Bank, and Central Bank of India. Changes to the Banking Regulation Amendment Act will facilitate this merger.

7. Uttar Pradesh Extends Tenure of CEO Arun Vir Singh:
