SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024
The SSC CGL 2024 exam is conducted in two stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 is an online objective test consisting of 100 questions (25 each from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension), with a total of 200 marks and a duration of 60 minutes.
Tier 2 also consists of online objective tests. Paper 1, mandatory for all posts, comprises sections on Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and a qualifying Data Entry Speed Test. Paper 2 is for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts and covers Statistics. Paper 3 is for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer posts and covers General Studies (Finance and Economics).

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2024
The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam is an online objective test consisting of 100 questions divided into four sections:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 questions
- General Awareness: 25 questions
- Quantitative Aptitude: 25 questions
- English Comprehension: 25 questions
Marking Scheme:
- Correct Answer: +2 marks
- Incorrect Answer: -0.5 marks
The total marks for Tier 1 are 200, and the exam duration is 60 minutes. It’s important to note that Tier 1 is qualifying in nature, and the marks obtained in this stage will not be counted towards the final selection.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2024
The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam comprises two papers. Paper 1 is mandatory for all posts and consists of sections on Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Each correct answer in this paper carries 2 marks, while incorrect answers incur a penalty of 1 mark. The Data Entry Speed Test in Paper 1 is qualifying in nature.
Paper 2 is specific to certain posts. For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts, Paper 2 focuses on Statistics. Each correct answer in this paper carries 2 marks, with a penalty of 0.5 marks for incorrect answers.
