NLSAT Eligibility Criteria 2023
Mostly each and every conducting body specifies eligibility criteria that each candidate should fulfil in order to appear in the exam. The same is the case for the NLSAT 2023 exam. In order to take the NLSAT exam, candidates must fulfil the below-mentioned criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised national or international university with a minimum of forty-five (45) per cent aggregate in total. There is a five (5) per cent relaxation on the total aggregate percentage for students belonging to the SC/ST category.
- Interested candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree can also apply for the exam. However, their admission will be contingent on the fulfilment of the above-mentioned criteria.
- The candidates still appearing for the qualifying exam must provide proof of completion on or before December 31, 2023.
NLSAT Application Process 2023
The application process is online and candidates must visit the official website to fill out the required details to get themselves registered for the exam. Upon successful registration, candidates must fill out the application form by logging in with the received credentials. After the completion of the application process, candidates will be eligible to receive the admit card and thereafter take the exam.

Exam Pattern for NLSAT 2023
Candidates appearing for the NLSAT exam will be faced with the challenge of clearing a question paper comprising of two (2) parts, i.e. Part A and Part B. Part A consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs) and Part B consists of subjective questions. As per the criteria set by NLSIU, only those candidates who qualify for Part A will get their responses in Part B evaluated. Candidates must aim to score more than zero (0) marks in Part A.
Candidates belonging to the General/EWS category must score above the 75th percentile in Part A. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD/OBS-NCL must score above the 50th percentile in Part A.
Once the candidates clear both Part A and Part B, they will be required to appear for an interview. For the interview round, candidates will be evaluated based on reasoning, original thinking, and passion for law. The exam pattern is discussed below:

Selection Process for the NLSAT Exam
Once the candidate clears the written examination, there will be a personal interview (PI) for ten (10) marks. During the interview, candidates will be judged on their legal aptitude, reasoning, and overall intelligence. After the interview stage, a final list of selected candidates shall be prepared based on performance in Part B of the exam as well as the interview. Based on this list, candidates will be selected for admission to the three-year LLB (Hons) program at NLSIU.
