MAT Exam Eligibility Criteria 2024 📝
Before taking the exam, the candidate needs to make sure that they know everything about MAT exam eligibility criteria. Keeping everything in mind, we have compiled a list of all the eligibility criteria that should be taken into consideration before applying for the same. Go through the list.
Educational Qualifications 🧑🎓
Before applying for the MAT exam, the candidate needs to make sure that they are qualified in terms of education so that they can move ahead. Here is the list.
- All candidates should make sure that they score at least 60 per cent in classes 10 and 12 or equivalent exams. Candidates falling in SC category/ST category and PwD categories need a minimum of 55 per cent in their Senior Secondary and HSC.
- Appearing candidates must have completed their class 10 in 2018 or after and class 12 in 2021 or later than that. All aspiring candidates who are currently in Class 12 (as of 2024) are also eligible to appear for JIPMAT in 2024, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
- After meeting all the eligibility criteria, all the aspiring candidates will provided reservations as per the norms of the Government of India.
Attempt Limit 📚
You can take the exam as many times as you need. There are no restrictions on how many attempts you can make. Only your most recent score will be used for admission.
Age Limit 🧑🏫
All aspiring students should make a note that there is no maximum or minimum age limit to appear for the MAT exam.
Domicile Criteria 🧒
Candidates willing to take the MAT exam this year should note that they must be citizens of India to be eligible for the same. This means they must have resided in India for atleast 10 years.

MAT Exam Eligibility Criteria of Participating Institutions 2024 🏫
The conducting body for the MAT exam – All India Management Association (AIMA) does not specify any reservation or any specific criteria as per the participating colleges. However, various participating colleges have set up their own rules for MAT exam eligibility percentage for admission to respective institutes. Below are some of the criteria mentioned by some of the colleges:
- Each student must have scored 50-60 per cent marks during their graduation.
- All those students who hold work experience will be given some relaxation during their admission.
- Weightage will be given to women candidates during admission to promote gender diversity.
- Lastly, good weightage will be given to candidates who are excellent academic performers in class 10 and 12.

Eligibility for Admission to Participating Colleges through MAT
To get into participating colleges for 2024, you need to pass the MAT 2024 exam and meet the required cutoff score. During the MAT 2024 counseling, you will be assigned seats in the courses and colleges you applied to.

MAT 2024 Reservation Policy 📄
All aspiring candidates should note that the All India Management Association has fixed reservations which is the same as last year. To make it through, the candidate needs to get the minimum cut-off score. After which, they will be shortlisted and will proceed with other rounds of interviews. MAT 2024 Application Form
The MAT 2024 registration for the August session, which includes CBT, PBT, and IBT modes, is now open. To complete the application, candidates need to provide personal and academic information, upload scanned images of their photographs and signatures, and pay the application fee. Paying the fee will confirm their eligibility to take the MAT 2024 exam.

MAT Reservation Criteria for PwD Candidates
In many higher education institutions, 5% of seats are set aside for individuals with Benchmark Disabilities as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016). The types of disabilities covered include:
- Deafness and hearing impairments
- Blindness and visual impairments
- Physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, leprosy, treated dwarfism, victims of acid attacks, and muscular dystrophy
- Autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and mental health conditions
- Other specified disabilities detailed in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016
- Multiple disabilities from the categories listed above.
