How do you Calculate the CAT Percentile?
The CAT percentile is calculated based on the scaled score and the CAT score is calculated based on marks obtained. Here are some examples given below to show you how the CAT percentile is calculated.
- Calculate the total number of candidates (A) sitting for the CAT Exam, in all three slots, i.e., in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
- Allot Rank (B) based on the scaled score received in the Quant section by all the candidates who appeared in CAT.
- Estimate the percentile score (P) of a candidate with rank (B) in the Quant section as P= (A-B/A)*100
- Candidates must do the round-up of the percentile score up to two decimal points.
But before that, candidates must know the CAT percentile vs CAT score difference to get a clear idea of the calculation of marks based on both.
