What is the examination mode for the JEE Main 2023 exam?

The JEE Main 2023 exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. But the drawing test for the B.Arch will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).

What is the full form of the JEE Main exam?

JEE Main is the abbreviation for the Joint Entrance Exam – Main. JEE Main was formerly known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

How many question papers are in JEE Main 2023 exam?

The JEE Main 2023 exam will comprise two papers. Paper 1 will be conducted for candidates who want to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering (BE/BTech) from top technical institutions like the NITS and IIITs, and Paper II is conducted for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses. What is the last date to apply for the JEE Main 2023 session 2?

As per the latest notification released by the National Testing Agency, the last date to apply for the JEE Main 2023 session 2 is 12th March 2023. 

What is the exam date for JEE Main 2023 session 2?

The tentative dates for the JEE Main 2023 session 2 are – the 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th of April 2023 (reserved dates – 13th and 15th April 2023).

Candidates have to upload the following original documents in the required format – 10th and 12th-class mark sheets, passport-size photos, signature, and caste certificate (if applicable).

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria FAQs

What are the required eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2023?

To become eligible for the JEE Main 2023, candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2021 or 2022 from a recognised institution in the country. Candidates who are appearing in their 10+2 in 2023 are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2023.

What is the age limit for JEE Main 2023?

There is no age limit for candidates appearing for the JEE Main 2023. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2021 or 2022 or are appearing in 2023 are eligible for the JEE Main 2023. However, the candidates may be required to fulfil the age limit criteria of the college or institute from where they wish to pursue their higher studies.

Does NTA have any exemption for the PwD candidates?

Yes, Persons with Disabilities are permitted to use a scribe or allowed compensatory time or both including – the facility of a Scribe. In case the candidate has a physical limitation, a scribe is essential to write the examination on his/her behalf, being so certified in the prescribed format, and compensatory time of one hour for an examination of three hours duration, whether such candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not. 

JEE Main Syllabus and Exam Pattern FAQs

Has NTA changed the syllabus of JEE Main 2023 session 2?

No, the syllabus for JEE Main 2023 session 2 will be the same as that of session 1. After taking opinions from different education boards from all over the country, NTA has decided that JEE Main 2023 exam will have a total of 90 questions and candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only. 

Will there be any negative marking in the JEE Main 2023 session 2?

The JEE Main 2023 exam will be divided into two sections – A and B and both sections will have negative markings. Section A will have MCQ-based questions and section B will have numerical questions. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

What will be the exam pattern of JEE Main 2023 session 2?

The JEE Main 2023 exam paper will consist of two papers, 1 and 2. Paper 1 will consist of a total of 90 questions and candidates can attempt only 75 out of these 90. The remaining 15 optional questions will have negative markings.
