The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the CSIR Net Exam Date 2024 on the official website, CSIR NET. (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) CSIR NET exams are conducted for eligibility for a Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship, or Assistant Professor. The exams are conducted two times a year: June and December. The CSIR Net Exam date 2024 will cover a total of 83 subjects.

CSIR Exam Date 2024 notification is already available on the official website, it has also released the application form dates, exam dates, and admit card dates, along with other important dates. But since UGC has cancelled the NTA NET June 2024 exams, it may now be possible that you see a shift in the CSIR NET 2024 exam dates as well.

Latest Updates 

The University Grants Commission (UGC) cancelled the NTA NET June 2024 exam on June 19, 2024, citing concerns about the exam’s integrity. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will shortly publish a unique timetable for the UGC NET exams.

The UGC NET June 2024 test was previously administered to 83 subjects in two shifts on June 18, 2024. According tot he latest updates, since, the NTA NET June 2024 has been cancelled, it is also possible that that CSIR NET June 2024 also gets postponed o cancelled.

CSIR NET 2024 Exam Pattern

A candidate needs to be familiar with the exam format of the CSIR NET Exam if he or she is willing to sit for the exams. The exam will be conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2, each lasting 180 minutes. The total marks allocated to the CSIR NET Exam are 200. Remember that the CSIR NET Exam has a negative marking of -0.5 on every wrong answer. The details are mentioned below:

CSIR NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the CSIR NET Exam Date 2024 session are already out and candidates can check the same here:

Educational Qualification

  • 55% of minimum marks are required in a Master’s degree or any equivalent degree, and SC/ ST/ PwD categories require 50% of marks.
  • Candidates who are in their final year and whose results are awaited can also apply for the exam under the Result Awaited (RA) category.
  • Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree can apply for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) only, and not an assistant professor or lectureship.

Age Limit

  • JRF: Candidate must not cross the age limit of 28 years
  • Assistant Professor/ Lectureship: No age limit

Steps To Apply for the CSIR NET Exams

To apply for the CSIR NET Exam 2024, the candidate needs to check the step-by-step procedure. The steps are as follows:

  • Visit the official website: https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/
  • On the website, fill out the online CSIR NET ApplicationForm 2024
  • Select ‘New Registration’ if you are a new applicant and proceed
  • Enter all the information asked for in the form
  • Once you have filled in all the details and the declaration form, go for the Final Submission
  • Confirm your registration by clicking on Yes
  • Afterwards, your application number will be generated. Keep that safe.
  • Verify your contact number and email address
  • Click on ‘Final Submit’ after reviewing it once
  • Upload your scanned photograph and signature in the mentioned format
  • Pay your application fee
  • Save and download the Acknowledgement form
