Aditya L1 Launch Date

2 September 2023 is going to be an important day in the history of India, as on this day launched our Aditya L1 mission. The motive of this mission is to capture the 24*7 view of the sun. It is one thing to land on the surface of the moon, but we cannot land on the surface of the sun. The temperature of the surface of the sun is 5,500 degrees Celsius on an average basis.

The Sun is about 150 million km away from us, but our Aditya L1 will not need to go this far. We will only go to the L1 point which is about 1.5 million km away. This way we will cover 4 times more distance than the Chandryaan mission.

Aditya L1 will take 4 months to reach the L1 point and will stay active for the next five years. We will not be alone on this L1 point, the European Space Agency’s SOHO (Solar Heliospheric Observatory Satelite) is already present there. Hopefully, our ISRO team will accomplish this mission very soon smoothly.
