Bhagat Singh was an Indian anti-colonial revolutionary of the 20th century and an active participant in the Indian Independence Movement. Singh is also known as the Shaheed Bhagat Singh because of the contributions he has made to the nationalist movement of Indian independence. He opposed the British East India Company’s rule in India and was executed for the murder of two high-profile British authorities- John Saunders and Channan Singh, one was a local police. On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh died in Lahore Jail because he was executed for his activities along with Shivram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar.

How did Bhagat Singh Die?
On 23rd March 1931, Shaheed Bhagat Singh was hanged to death by the Britishers in India. It is said that he murdered Officer J.P. Saunders in the erstwhile Lahore city (a previous part of India). In order to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, on December 17, 1927, Bhagat Singh along with his associates mistakenly killed Saunders who was not part of the plot.
Along with that, he had been a part of the Lahore Conspiracy. Moreover, on 8 April 1929, he bombed the central legislative assembly with Batukeshshwar Dutt. Furthermore, they raised a slogan of “Inquilab Zindabad,” outside the central assembly hall with the motive of making the deaf hear and not causing any injury to people.

Bhagat Singh was born in a Sikh family in the erstwhile Lyllapur, now Faisalabad district in Pakistan on 27 Septemeber 1907 to a family of patriotic individuals. Since his childhood, he actively participated in the freedom movement.
