NCR stands for National Capital Region, which encompasses Delhi and its surrounding areas. The NCR includes cities like Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and others, and is known for its rapid urbanization and development. The region has become a hub for various industries and has attracted a significant amount of investment, resulting in increased economic activity and job opportunities. However, the NCR also faces various challenges such as air pollution, traffic congestion, and lack of adequate infrastructure. The authorities are working towards addressing these issues to make the NCR a better place to live and work in.

The First Master Plan for Delhi made the suggestion in 1962 that a large portion of Delhi and other towns be united to establish a metropolitan metropolis in order to ease some of Delhi’s population pressure. Basically, it was created to ensure better coordination and planning among the various cities and towns surrounding Delhi. It aims to promote balanced regional development, enhance economic growth, and provide better infrastructure and services to the residents. The NCR also helps in addressing common issues and challenges faced by the region, such as environmental degradation and traffic congestion.
