In Indian history, Shivaji Dattatray Sawant was a novelist. He was from a small village named Ajara, Kolhapur. Shivaji was a Marathi language novelist and was also known as the Mrutyunjaykaar which means Author of Mrutunjay. He was the first Marathi writer who was awarded the Moortidevi Award in 1994. He wrote Mrutyunjay, which was based on the leading character in Mahabharat named Karna. This book of his got many awards and accolades.
